Trains to France 'popular with skiers this season'
Travelling by train to France is popular with skiers from the UK this winter sports season, it is claimed.
People are attracted by train travel because there are few added costs on top of the ticket price, according to Amanda Monroe, media relations manager at Rail Europe.
In addition, Ms Munroe argues that going by train is a "civilised way to travel".
French resorts such as Val d'Isere are "always popular" options for train travellers, she says, as they have stations which are easy to get to.
"It is worth looking at the rail options for any skiing destination," Ms Munroe added.
Britons with private holiday villas in France may be interested to note the latest figures from the Ski Club of Great Britain, which show that France continues to dominate the UK snow sports market with a 43 per cent share.
