Friday June 24th, 2011

If you are planning a holiday somewhere overseas, you might well be excited about the prospect. After all, getting away from it all for a week or two can be the perfect antidote to all the stress you experience in your everyday life.

However, in order to get the very most from your break, it is important you do your research about the areas you consider. For example, if you are thinking about booking villas in Portugal, you should research the place you have in mind to find out if it has all the things you are looking for.

So, when you are heading abroad with a group of friends, you might be eager to book a place situated near to some great nightlife. If this is the case and you neglect to do some investigation and end up in a location far away from bars, clubs and restaurants, you are likely to be sorely disappointed.

On the other hand, if you are planning to book villas in Mallorca for a family holiday and you have youngsters to look after, you may well require accommodation that is child-friendly and near to entertainment that will keep them amused.

By spending some time doing a little research on the locations you come across when conducting your search for villa holidays, you should be able to make sure you select the perfect vacation for you.

Thanks to the web, it has never been easier to find out all you need to know about virtually anywhere in the world, whether you are planning stays in Tenerife villas or in a different place.

Great Weather All Year Round in Tenerife

Monday June 6th, 2011

Like many people, you might sometimes get sick and tired of the weather at home. We have just emerged from a long, cold and at times difficult winter and, although the warmer months have arrived, many parts of the country are still suffering wet and windy conditions.

You may find that, because of the unpredictable and often unpleasant weather, it is difficult to plan trips and days out. For example, you might arrange a picnic with your partner only to have to call it off at the last minute because of a downpour.

Also, you may sometimes feel deprived of much needed vitamin D.

However, there is one way in which you can beat the weather and that is by arranging villa holidays to somewhere altogether warmer and sunnier. One destination that fits this bill perfectly is Tenerife.

The island lies only a little way north of the Tropic of Cancer, meaning it benefits from balmy conditions all year round. Indeed, if it wasn’t for the combination of the Gulf and Trade Winds that travel over it, the island would be much more similar to the nearby Sahara desert.

Across the island lies a mountain range and, if you are after guaranteed sunshine, you might want to consider booking holiday villas in Tenerife that lie to the south of this. The more tropical northern area gets a higher level of rainfall.

By coming here to Azure Holidays to book your villa holidays, you can take your pick from a vast array of locations. Of course, if you do not fancy this island, you could consider other places. For example, you might want to take a look at our Algarve villas.

One of the areas you might wish to consider is the Costa Del Sol. This fantastic location has been a hit among tourists for a long time and this is no surprise. Indeed, this area of southern Spain has been popular since the second half of the last century and over the decades, the facilities available to those who holiday there have been advancing and becoming ever more impressive.

Literally translated as the Coast of the Sun, the region comprises a series of coastal towns and villages along the coastline of the Malaga province and it lies between the Costa De La Luz and the Costa Tropical.

Whereas the location used to be dominated by the fishing and farming communities, now it is a mecca for tourists.

When taking villa holidays in Spain and staying in this particular part of the country, you can make the most of fabulous shopping, dining, nightlife, beaches, water parks, golf courses and much more.

If you are keen to investigate our villas to rent in Spain, simply take a look around the relevant part of our website. Of course, we also provide holiday villas in many other locations, meaning you should be able to find the ideal vacation for you.

Visiting Costa De Almeria

Tuesday May 24th, 2011

Planning a holiday in Spain is exciting. You will probably enjoy beautiful sunny weather – you’re probably dreaming of beaches, spas, shopping, and maybe even some hiking or historical sites.

Here at Azure Holidays, we offer villas to rent in Spain with a variety available in various locations. While we have villas in Spain for many different destinations, our two bedroom apartment in Costa De Almeria is an excellent choice. Here are some of the things you’ll want to see while visiting.

1. The Alhambra. Built by the Moors, this beautifully intact palace fortress is located inside the grounds of Generalife Gardens which house beautiful trees and other plants and water fountains.

2. Parque Natural de Sierra Maria-Velez. This enormous national park is constantly open to the public. Here you will enjoy walks through pine forests, and will probably encounter some wildlife.

3. Costa Tropical. Enjoy mountainous scenery while strolling along this beautiful, sandy beach. Collect seashells, and dip your toes in tide pools while exploring the many coves.

4. The Almeria Cathedral. This Gothic and Renaissance style catholic cathedral was built in the 1500’s during troubled times in Spain. Cannons once stood in the corner towers to protect the cathedral’s inhabitants from attack. The Gothic ceiling inside is embellished with locally sourced jasper and marble.

This is just a taste of what you will find in Almeria. You can also find museums, galleries, restaurants, shops, and more. Book your villa holidays in Spain with Azure Holidays—we can offer you great prices on villas in Spain.

Must-See Attractions in Mallorca

Monday May 9th, 2011

Planning on taking some villa holidays this spring or summer? If Mallorca is on your list of possible destinations for villa holidays, you’ll definitely want to include these attractions in your list of things to do when you get there.

If you’re interested in castles and historic ruins, you will want to visit Capdepera Castle in the north east of Mallorca. This 14th Century castle in the town of Arta was built by Christian settlers, but stands on the same site of a former ancient Roman castle. It is the largest castle on the island.

For something a little different, visit the ruined castle–Castell d’ Alaro—which rests on the top of a mountain, and is overgrown with trees and greenery. It’s a two hour hike from the town of Alaro.

You can also visit the Royal Carthnusian Monastery in Valledemossa. It’s a museum now, but it was once a royal residence and then a monastery, and Chopin spent a winter here.

In Mallorca you’ll also find botanic gardens, art galleries, museums, country estates, caves, nature reserves, theme parks, outdoor markets, religious and other historic buildings, and much more.

The weather tends to be mild to warm, so pack clothes for warm weather. But it’s always wise to also bring an umbrella and rain jacket just in case. You may want hiking boots and a bathing suit as well.

We offer a wide range of luxury villas in the Mallorca area, and villas in Mallorca tend to be quite close to local attractions and villages.

Tuesday May 3rd, 2011

Visiting the beautiful Costa Blanca area of Spain offers tourists excellent weather conditions and gorgeous and expansive sandy beaches. When you choose one of our villa holidays in this area, you can enjoy many different attractions and sites.

On the northern Costa Blanca coast, enjoy mountainous scenery and orange groves. Visit the towns of Gandia and Oliva, and further inland see a Spanish Castle in the town of Javita.

If you love nature, you’ll want to visit The Nature Reserve of Montgo for beautiful scenery, wildlife, and beaches. You may also want to visit The Tabarca Island Nature Reserve, which is an island completely surrounded by seagras. Get a boat from Santa Pola.

Costa Blanca also offers many cultural hotspots, including museums and theatre. For 16th Century architecture, and prehistoric and historic artefacts, visit the Archaeological Museum Camilo Vicedo Molto. Here you will see ancient ceramics, weapons, and written documents.

To see some authentic Spanish theatre, visit the Teatro Salesianos in Alcoy, or the Teatro Cortes in Almoradi.

Catering for the Perfect Holiday

Sunday April 24th, 2011

Villa holidays are fantastic because they offer high quality private accommodation as well as the freedom to take things at your own pace. With a holiday villa rental you are at liberty to do as much or as little as you want, whenever you want. Unlike hotel accommodation, you are completely unrestricted and do not have to deal with any over enthusiastic holiday reps.

Self-catering is an important element of what makes villa holidays so flexible. Having the option of preparing your own food enables you to takes things as they come and so gives you the ideal platform to be more flexible in how you organise your activities. If you want to enjoy an extended lie-in one morning then you can do so without worrying that you may miss breakfast. As long as you’ve gone shopping beforehand, you can enjoy your breakfast no matter what time you choose to get out of bed. And, of course, you are not restricted to a set menu; it’s completely up to you what you eat, and when and where you take your meals. You can always eat out at local eateries when you feel the urge or stay in with some local wine and fresh food from the market. And, just to make things even more perfect, you can even fire up your barbeque and enjoy some al-fresco grills while you watch the sun go down.

Everything is always on your terms with a holiday villa rental.

Where to Go on Your Villa Holiday

Monday April 18th, 2011

So you’ve seen the light and realised that villa holidays are the most enjoyable way to spend your time in Europe’s sunnier climes. The only thing you need to do now is work out exactly what type of holiday you want to enjoy.

Clubbing holidays
When it comes to clubbing holidays, you really cannot beat the Balaeric island of Ibiza. With the greatest concentration of bar-clubs, pre-clubs, cheesy clubs, beach clubs and superclubs in the world, you can party at a different venue every night for the length of your stay. Renting a villa can be a very cost effective option for clubbing holidays, especially if you’re staying with a large group friends.

Sun & sea holidays
For plentiful sunshine and sweeping seascapes, the Algarve reigns supreme. With beautiful beaches, roasting summer climate and wide range of fantastic restaurants and bars, this stunning area of Portugal is absolutely ideal. Freshly caught fish are a culinary delight in the Algarve so be sure to enjoy a few fresh fish barbeques in the comfort of your private villa rental.

Cheap villa holidays
If you’re after low cost villa holidays then the Costa del Sol is a great place to consider. Holiday villa rental is particularly cheap in this part of Spain because of the large number of holiday villas available to rent in the area and the constant competition to attract more and more Northern European tourists. Beautiful scenery and great activities at very attractive prices!
