Calahonda Villa Holiday Guide
Popular with British families, Calahonda is a
self-sufficient beach resort situated between Marbella and
Feungirola. Its location allows visitors easy access to all the
nearby attractions of the Costa Del Sol as well as being an
excellent base for those seeking a traditional sun, sea and sand
Purpose built as a resort in the 1960s, Calahonda has almost grown into a town with apartment blocks stretching from the coast into the hills behind.
The sun-drenched beaches are golden sand and you'll find a wide variety of water sports on offer. Puerto Cabopino is just a few kilometres away - reputedly the most secluded port on the Costa and well known for its excellent restaurants.
There's a choice of 10 golf courses within a 10km radius of Calahonda and for family entertainment in addition to all the beach and sea-based activities you'll find horse riding, theme parks and splash parks nearby, including Tivoli World and Sea Life.
Calahonda boasts all possible amenities, including shopping centres, banks, supermarkets, restaurants, car hire, and medical centres - hence it being much loved by families as everything is close at hand. It's short on nightlife due to the extent of building here (noise pollution issues) so is surprisingly quiet at night - another bonus for those with young children. Nearby resorts provide plenty of clubs and bars offering all-night entertainment.
