Cala St Vicente Holiday Guide
The picturesque resort of Cala San Vicente will be found on Mallorca's incredibly beautiful Northern coast, around 50 minutes from Palma airport. This is a charming, quiet place and is perfect for couples and families looking for an authentic, laid back Mallorquin culture and a peaceful and intimate nightlife, rather than the bustling entertainment of the major resorts. Cala San Vicente remains a delightful fishing village, both for the locals and visitors alike and it has no less than three stunning beaches.
Cala Barques is the largest beach with all the usual facilities and water sports such as pedalos and a banana boat; it is also perfect for snorkelling around the rock formations. All three beaches are safe and have beautiful, soft golden sand. The village has a few shops where you can buy day-to-day essentials and there is a large supermarket in Pollenca. Photographers will be in awe of the rocky coastline which runs along the edge of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range and the incredible sea views.
The bar at Molins Beach in Cala San Vicente is the perfect spot to enjoy an aperitif; the dramatic views at sunset over the ocean and the towering cliffs should not be missed. The village has several good restaurants including ones that serve excellent tapas and a pizzeria. There is also a very popular Irish bar - perfect for after dinner entertainment. At least one trip to the exciting nightlife of Pollenca or Alcúdia, around 10 kms away, is a must, if only to fully appreciate the perfection of Cala San Vicente.
For rugged beauty, wonderful, friendly local people and beautiful beaches, a stunning luxury villa in Cala San Vicente cannot be beaten. After just a few days, stress will seem like a long forgotten word.
