Puerto Pollenca Holiday Guide
Puerto Pollenca is around 50 minutes from Palma airport and is without a doubt one of the most popular resorts for families in Mallorca. Originally a fishing village, it still retains an air of graciousness, but with many modern facilities. There is a wonderful marina which is popular with cruising yachts and also local fishermen with their traditional 'llaüts'. Visit Puerto Pollenca at any time of the year, as Majorca boasts a great all-year-round climate, hot in summer and temperate in the winter.
The bay is horseshoe shaped with calm waters and soft golden sand which stretches for around one kilometre; sunbeds and parasols are plentiful. Take a stroll along the scenic Pine Walk, Puerto Pollenca's beach promenade or hire a pedalo or kayak for some leisurely entertainment on the crystal clear waters. There is much to do in and around the resort and nature lovers will enjoy the three kilometre walk across the Formentor peninsula. If you would like to buy authentic Mallorcan products, then do visit nearby Pollenca and Wednesday's and Sunday's are market days in Puerto Pollenca and Pollenca respectively.
The nightlife is wonderful for all ages and the town square is the place to be. Restaurants are diverse from Indian to Italian to Spanish and there are many bars and pubs. If a more frantic nightlife is desired, then just grab a taxi for the short ride to Pollenca where it all happens, from live music bars through to discos; the BCM Planet Dance is considered to be one of the best in Mallorca.
A holiday villa at Puerto Pollenca is the perfect choice for families, couples and singles who want a spectacular beach and a charming place to stay, yet close to a major resort for nightlife. It is a setting where you will return time and time again.
