Puerto Santiago Villa Holiday Guide
Puerto Santiago is a delightful small fishing village around 50 minutes drive from Tenerife airport and well worth the trip. It has an amazing location on the west coast, between Playa de la Arena and Los Gigantes. A pretty whitewashed town will greet you from its hillside position, at the foot of which there is a small black sand beach. However by staying at this romantic little refuge, you also get to enjoy the facilities of its neighbours, Playa de la Arena which is within walking distance and Los Gigantes,
The beach in Puerto Santiago is small, so you may prefer to stroll over to Playa de la Arena, which has Blue Flag status, beachside restaurants, umbrellas and sun loungers. If you are looking for watersports, then the stunning setting of Los Gigantes is a 10 minute drive away, where you can enjoy the marina and a watersports and diving centre. Do take a day trip to Mount Teide - the world's third highest volcano and if you enjoy walking, take the five hour hike to the top or alternatively there is a cable car. At the summit you will be in awe of the fuming sulphurous atmosphere and the view over the other Canary islands.
Nightllife is low key in Puerto Santiago, but the restaurants serve the best fresh fish that you will ever taste. Try it barbecued with a wonderful spicy sauce called 'Mojo Picon' - delicious. There are also several bars to enjoy an evening cocktail, but if you want a more diverse evening's entertainment, head into Los Gigantos where there is everything you could wish for and more.
Puerto Santiago is a truly magical place and our rental villas are stunning. Great beaches, superb food and an excellent nightlife close by - what more could you want?
